Laura Jean Anderson is a Los Angeles-based artist, vocalist, teacher, writer, multi-instrumentalist, producer and a graduate from California Institute of the Arts in Vocal Performance. Her training originated in classical voice but has grown to become versatile with over a decade of work in jazz, pop, rock, soul, country and her original music. Through her work as a solo artist, she has garnered support and critical acclaim from NPR, Rolling Stone, Noisey, Salon and Fader, leading to a multi-faceted working artist career in Los Angeles. She is a staple in the LA music scene with support from KCRW and LA Weekly proclaiming her music as a "Timeless sound...a mysterious concept that sounds as it's from another era." She currently works as a professional vocalist, touring artist, session musician, writer, performer and teacher. As a teacher for the past 12 years, she is enthusiastic about giving students the proper foundation to feel truly connected to the music they love and are making, to cultivate passion, teach important skills and educate on the history and traditions of music that lead us to where we are today.
