GUITAR
George Silva, a Los Angeles native, is a performer/composer/instructor who has been studying music for over 15 years. George has an extensive education in music, having received his A.A in Guitar Performance from Los Angeles College of Music and his BFA and MFA in Jazz Studies - Guitar from California Institute of the Arts. Being a native to the Los Angeles area has given George a unique understanding and insight into music’s ability and role in cultivating diversity and inclusivity within the community.
As a performer and instructor, this exposure to diversity has given George the ability to develop practical lesson plans that take influence from both western and eastern music styles. Since 2014, George’s time as an instructor with Plaza de la Raza as well as San Gabriel and Los Angeles Unified School Districts has given him the honor of being a part of over 200 students’ music-learning experiences.
